Pre-Installation

Sub-Floor Preparation

  • Prior to installing the ULTRAmat 15, ensure that the substrate is structurally sound, dry and level.

  • Clean the floors of any building debris to allow the ULTRAmat to lay flat.

  • Any loose floorboards should be secured to the joists with suitable fixings.

Pre-Installation

Before commencing installation, take time to familiarise yourself with the layout of install, the products, and these instructions.

Acclimatisation

Prior to installation of ULTRAmat, it should be left to acclimatise in the area to be treated for at least 24 hours.

Installation

Laying DECKfon ULTRAmat 15

  • The DECKfon ULTRAmat 15 should be installed in a brick bond pattern, ensuring no gaps occur between the boards by butting the mats tightly together.

  • The ULTRAmat can be cut using a sharp knife . Ensure suitable PPE used and comply with the safety data sheet, a copy can be found on Cellecta’s website or a copy provided by contacting Cellecta’s technical department.

  • Install YELOfon FS flanking strip to all perimeter walls and abutments. If over-boarding with plywood Leave a 6mm gap around the perimeter and install the FS flanking as the plywood is installed.

  • Work away from a corner of the room in rows using the off-cut to start the next row, don’t use any off-cuts shorter than 150mm.

  • For additional stability, HG-Tape can be installed over the joints.

 Sanitary Ware & Kitchen units

  • Sanitary ware and kitchen units must be built off the sub-floor with the ULTRAmat dressed up close to the legs or units.

  • Install any decorative panels such as plinths or bath panels to produce a neat finish. Seal any gaps with a flexible mastic/sealant.

Floor Finishing

Floor Finishes

  • Once installation of the ULTRAmat is complete, floor finishes can be installed.

  • Install all floor finishes on top of the ULTRAmat in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and the relevant British Standards.

Carpet

It is recommended that any carpet grippers be fixed to the subfloor and raised if required using a 15mm thick timber batten with the ULTRAmat dressed tightly to it.

Wooden, laminate floors & vinyl

  • A 6mm/9mm plywood cover board should be adhered over the ULTRAmat to provide additional stability before installing laminate floors.

  • The plywood should be adhered with Cellecta HB724 Surface adhesive. The Plywood should be offset so the board joints do NOT mirror the ULTRAmat.

Tiles

Follow the guidance for laminate floor finishes above, using 9mm plywood, for large format tiles consult with Cellecta Technical department.
