Flawless Dry Screed Flooring

Flawless Dry Screed Floors with ScreedBoard

Dry screed floors are rapidly being recognised as the ideal solution for new build and refurbishment floors. Supplied in sheets, ScreedBoard’s offer a modern, time saving solution that significantly speeds up build times compared to wet screeding methods. The boards also offer significant soundproofing and underfloor heating benefits when installed for these purposes.

Save Time and Money

Installing a dry ScreedBoard flooring system removes the drying times typically associated with wet screed acoustic flooring systems. ScreedBoard floors are able to accept foot traffic as soon they are installed allowing workers to install ceramic tiles, carpets and viynl flooring immediately. The risks of “going off” that may occur with screed are also removed as dry screed board sheets can be stored on site until they are required for installation.

Structural and Logistical

Dry screed board systems offer significant logistical benefits through fewer site deliveries. 1m2 of ScreedBoard typically weighs 26kg in comparison to 130kg for sand cement screed or 80kg for 40mm of anhydrite screed. For example 22 lorry loads would be required to transport 250 cubic metres of traditional screed for a 50 unit building; in contrast, only four lorry loads carrying 40 cubical metres of Screedboard would be required for the same building, reducing the amount of traffic and noise associated with the construction.

Where ScreedBoard is built in to a development from planning stages the system can reduce floor heights significantly, creating additional room for a more spacious environment. The reduction in weight also significantly reduces the structural demands of a construction.

Dry Screed Board Under Floor Heating

On ground floors dry screed boards can help optimise underfloor heating conditions. On upper floors they can be used for high performance sound proofing (when combined with a resilient layer), or as a combined underfloor heating and sound proofing solution.

ScreeedBoard‘s provide significant benefits when installing under floor heating systems as part of an acoustic system. Lower thermal resistance and greater conductivity than batten systems, allow heat to spread more evenly and efficiently across the floor. Using a dry ScreedBoard system typically increases heat efficiency by 30-40% when compared to timber overlays.

ScreedBoard 20 Underfloor Heating

Featuring extensive underfloor heating benefits, the award winning ScreedBoard 20 dry screed boards have the lowest thermal resistance when compared to the most common floor finishes (chipboards & wet screed). Low thermal resistance allows ground water heat pumps and heat recovery systems to work efficiently to provide significant cost savings for the consumer. ScreedBoard 20 floorboards accept ceramic tiles, feature easy to install interlocking edges, and don’t contract or expand when exposed to water.
